Bipedal Robot Leg

A single robot leg built to work out the joints, actuators and control before committing to a full biped.

Overview

What this leg is for. Is it a test bed for a future walking robot, a study of a particular joint design, or a copy of an existing design you wanted to understand by building it?

Design

  • Degrees of freedom: TODO (hip, knee, ankle?)
  • Actuators: TODO motor or servo type, gear ratio
  • Structure: TODO printed parts, material, any metal inserts or bearings
  • Sensing: TODO encoders, IMU, foot contact

A CAD render or exploded view goes well here.

Control

How you drive it. Position control from a microcontroller, a trajectory player, something learned? Mention the board and the firmware.

What went wrong

The most useful part of any build log. Backlash, printed parts snapping, servos stalling, whatever it was.

Status and next steps

  • TODO: where it stands
  • TODO: what’s next
